So, you have the Live Streams addon, but what the heck does it do? Basically you need to add custom XML files to it, that contain links to streaming media. Now, you could go ahead and create your own XML files, but for the most part, the work has already been done for you, so for the time being, we’ll show you how to add XML files created by others to your Live Streams Video Addon on XBMC.
Requirements
- Divingmule Addon Repository
- Live Streams Video Addon
- Any Custom Live Streaming XML File (we’re using JohnnyBravo’s Live Streams)
NOTE: Save the Custom Live Streaming XML File to your Desktop. If you’re an Apple TV or iOS User: Upload the File to the “/private/var/mobile/Applications” Folder.
IMPORTING CUSTOM LIVE STREAMS XML FILES FOR LIVE TELEVISION
Step 1: Go into “Addons” under the “VIDEOS” top menu option.

Step 2: Open the “LiveStreams” Video Addon for the First Time.

If you’ve already previously added a custom XML file to LiveStreams, you’ll need to go into Add-on Settings. To do this, you’ll want to Right Click the Menu Listing if you’re Using a Computer, Hold the “MENU” button on your Remote Control for 3 Seconds on Apple TV, or Hold Two Fingers on the Menu Listing for iPad or iPhone.
Step 3: Click “Choose File” from the Add-on Settings Popup that will Immediately Launch.

Step 4: Navigate to your Desktop or whichever folder you saved the Custom Live Streaming XML File to.

Step 5: Choose the custom Live Streams XML File that you Downloaded before Starting to Follow this Guide. We’re using JohnnyBravo’s Live Streams XML File as an example.

Step 6: Your screen will now look as follows, click the “Add Source” button to import the Custom XML File.

Step 7: Click “Done” on the Left Side of the Keyboard to Save the new Live Streams file. It should have already given it a name.

Step 8: You’ll now see a small popup at the bottom left of the screen that says “LiveStreams New source Added.” You can now go ahead and enter Live Streams again.

Step 9: Choose from one of the available categories displayed within the LiveStreams Video Addon. If you have more than one LiveStreams XML imported, you’ll need to choose the specific Stream File first.

Step 10: Choose the channel you wish to watch. In this case, we’re choosing MGM HD.

Step 11: Watch whatever stream you chose from in high quality, it works great!

Congratulations! Call yourself JohnnyBravo because you’re now a Live Streaming Pro Extraodinaire! All jokes aside, you should enjoy it, it seems to work pretty well, and it’s particularly exciting for Live Sports enthusiasts.
