Step 1: Download the stable XBMC software package. Make sure you choose the right version depending on whether you’re running OSX or OSXPPC, newer computers are always OSX.
Step 2: Double Click the downloaded file in order to extract the Disk Image.
Step 3: You’ll now see what looks like a Disk Drive on your Desktop. Open the Extracted Disk Image for XBMC.
Step 4: You’ll now want to Drag and Drop the XBMC logo in the window to the Applications folder which is also located in the window for easy installation.
Step 5: You’ll now want to Right Click on the Disk Drive for XBMC located on your Desktop (as shown in Step 3) and choose to Eject “XBMC”.
Step 6: Launch and Exit the XBMC application at least once from your “Launchpad” or “Applications” menu prior to continuing.
PART 2 – CONFIGURE XBMC
Step 7: Download and Extract the “xbmchubWizard.zip” file.
Step 8: Launch the “xbmchubWizard.app” application, confirming that you want to Open the downloaded application, if prompted.
NOTE: If you’re having trouble or getting an error about the application being from an unidentified developer – Go to the Mac icon at the top left of your screen, click on System Preferences, then “Security & Privacy” and lastly toggle the “Anywhere” option under “Allow applications downloaded from” field. You might have to click on the little padlock in the lower left corner in order to gain access to that setting.
Step 9: Press the “Configure this Mac” button and wait a few minutes while the process goes through.
Step 10: Once completed, a green check mark will be displayed. You can now Exit the Wizard.
