The new nito Installer application doesn’t provide the functionality to install most free television addons for XBMC by default, but that doesn’t mean you can’t easily do it! There is a function provided with the tool called “Transfer Custom” which basically allows you to transfer any XBMC addon you’d like directly to your Apple TV 2 device running XBMC media player. It’s super easy and requires absolutely no technical knowledge!
TRANSFER CUSTOM ADDONS TO YOUR APPLE TV 2 RUNNING XBMC FROM MAC USING NITO INSTALLER
- nito Installer for Mac Software Tool
- Jailbroken Apple TV 2 with XBMC Installed
Step 1: The first step is to get the “Direct Link” for the addon you wish to transfer to your box. You’ll want to navigate to “http://fusion.xbmchub.com” (without quotations) in your web browser.
Step 2: Navigate through the file structure until you’ve found the addon you wish to install. We’ve chosen to use “Mikey’s Karaoke” for this demonstration.
Step 3: Right click on the file you wish to use, then select the “Copy Link Location” option.
Step 4: Launch the “nito Installer” on your Mac computer.
Step 5: Choose the “Transfer Custom” button located under the “XBMC Addons” section.
Step 6: When prompted, Paste the link that was copied in Step 3 into the text box, followed by pressing the “OK” button.
Step 7: You’ll now have to wait a few seconds for it to finish.
Step 8: When completed, you’ll see a green checkmark displayed in the middle of the window.
Step 9: You can now launch XBMC on the device.
Step 10: Go to the “Settings” menu under the “SYSTEM” tab.
Step 11: Select the “Add-ons” option on the left menu.
Step 12: Choose on the “Install from zip file” function.
Step 13: Go to the “Home folder” listing.
Step 14: Enter the “Applications” folder listing.
Step 15: Open each of the addon ZIP files that are located in the “Applications” folder in order to install them one after another, starting from Step 12 after each.
Step 16: You’ll now want to Enable the addons you wish to use, under the “Get More…” option in “Video Add-ons” or “Program Add-ons” and such.
Congratulations! You’ve now been taught quite an easy way to send any custom XBMC addon directly to your Apple TV’s XBMC installation without hassle. This should prove to be very useful for many of our visitors.
