Known issue with pre Frodo, affects all addons that have this kind of search. Downgrade to stable.
I have ice films installed and working except for the search function. I can not search for a specific show or movie. When I click on the search it opens a box/keyboard to input the string, but then it immediately opens a box on top of it saying "loading directory...retrieved items 0". That second box never goes away and I have to cancel out of it. Then if I type in the search box and hit done...it brings me back to the icefilms menu.

I also can't search within Icefilms but I don't follow the thread above. What does "downgrade to stable" mean?
Make sure you are on Eden 11.0 - basically the 'final' version of it, no nightly or beta versions before it
When XBMC loads it will say 'v11.0 Eden' on your screen
Thank you. It does say "v11.0 Eden" when I open it. But when I search for something and then click "done" it just brings me back to the previous menu with no results. Also, many files that are on the Icefilms website do not show up on the add-on directory. When I search alphabetically for a series such as Moonlighting it isn't there. But on the Icefilms website they have three seasons of episodes. Could my directory be out of sync? I've clicked "update directory".
There's no real 'sync' taking place, the addon reads live from the website at that point in time
Can you give examples and directions on exactly what you are doing so that I can reproduce? Tell me what is missing etc.
For the search would be good to have a log of you doing the search also exactly what you are searching for
I am not at my home, but can double-check later tonight.
But last night I went to "search", typed in "moonlighting", clicked "done" and was brought directly back to the previous menu of "tv, movies, popular, highly rated, favourites, etc." It has been this way as long as I can remember. It does not return results for searches.
And if I go to "TV" then "A-Z", then "M", there is no listing for "Moonlighting". But if I go to icefilms.info there are three seasons of Moonlighting shown.
Thanks for the help.
I don't see Moonlighting on the site - http://www.icefilms.info/tv/a-z/M
But if you do a search on the site Moonlighting does show up but there are no sources for it, so they are hiding it from their main listing
The search in the addon works ok for me though, maybe you can post a log of it?
