is there a way to watch 3d as 2d with xbmc

some good 3d movies have been showing up in ice films lately but i dont have a 3d tv.
i know there are a couple of programmes out there that help you watch them as 2d, but i was wondering if there was a way to do it through xbmc

yeah..I would like to know how this is done also. I have an ATV1, the latest XBMC but with a 'standard' non 3d Sony Bravia LCD.

    Cheers,

You would need an iOS video player that can do it and some scripting to run an external program.

I'm not entirely sure it can be done on an ATV?

i found this on the bino website (posted a year ago)
it's supposed to call the external Bino program to play 3d content and give you the option of 2d or 3d display on startup
but it doesn't work (doesn't launch) for me on windows xp running Eden (final)
    Code:
    http://code.google.com/p/sd-xbmc/downloads/detail?name=plugin.multimedia.players-1.0.3.zip&can=2&q=
so if any of you genius's could take a look this might be a good starting point ?

If you are on windows you can use a external player I can suggest stereoscopic media player it gives many options of watching the movie including just the left or right image.

Directly in XBMC and on atv2 the only way I can think of is if you use the zoom setting and stretch the movie out so only one image is visible. A very awkward way of doing it but in theory it should be possible.

I'm probably missing something, but why do you guys want to watch the 3D movies as 2D? Is there no 2D equivalents on the site?

I will echo eldorado. All 3d release currently have a 2d counterpart. Or so this is my understanding.

Hmmmm.... I do not know of any tool that would take a finalized 3d video and make it a cleanly playable 2d.
