I will be using air parrot to stream to the atv3 until a jailbreak is available.

I guess it is not a horrible option, but I would not call it a good one either. At least not from my experience.

Not sure what other option anyone has atm and it looks like its going to be awhile before anyone jailbreaks the new atv.
Just finished watching a movie within xbmc with the atv3 mirroring from the imac and it played great.

hmmm... perhaps the speed of the new ATV3? Perhaps the internet speed on your end? If you say it is working for you... then clearly this is a viable option for others with the same situation. I played with this on my ATV2 and the connection lagged terribly. The resolution would not fill my screen either (55inch). Just didnt do the trick for me.

but, again, that was just me.

i will get it in 14days.

Now lets see how long time it will take to jailbreak it.
i hope the new A5 chip (CPU) will be a lot faster to use the big skins in xbmx and a lot faster in the menus.
Cant wait :)
Cost 888,- Danish.kr its about 120 Euro

I can tell you there is a world of difference between A4 devices like the iPhone and A5 devices like the iPad2.
The ipad2 is rougly comparable to an ok PC when talking XBMC speed and it plays 720 avi fine in xvid.

Jailbreaking though. Hmm. You might be waiting some.. :/
The concept of using future Apple devices like the ATV2 as primary small appliances will IMHO die out soon.

Sell your atv3 and buy an atv2 on ebay. there are some brand new unopened up there obviously all have 4.4.4 or lower firmware as they haven't been in development since 5.0 has been available. I've bought two of them in recent weeks.
